Bahri adds VLCC ASLAF to fleet


The world’s largest owner and operator of Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), Bahri, the national shipping carrier of Saudi Arabia, has expanded its multipurpose fleet with the addition of ASLAF, a 300,000-dwt carrier built by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in South Korea.

Bahri took delivery of the new vessel at HHI’s Mokpo shipyard in South Jeolla Province, South Korea, bringing the number of VLCCs in its fleet to 39 while increasing its total fleet size to 86.

ASLAF is the third VLCC to join the Bahri fleet this year following the delivery of AMJAD in February and MAHARAH in June. This addition is part of Bahri’s plan to continue to improve its operational excellence and commercial flexibility and maintain its status as a first-class owner and operator ensuring maximum customer satisfaction.”
