Capacity growth at Contanda’s Baltimore Terminal


Contanda LLC has completed the construction of three new 5,000-barrel stainless steel tanks at its Baltimore Terminal.

The facility current has 15 carbon steel tanks ranging in size from 20,000 to 69,000 barrels of storage and it now boasts seven stainless steel tanks ranging in size from 3,750 to 5,000 barrels giving a total terminal capacity of nearly 500,000 barrels.

The facility stores specialty chemicals, caustic soda, fertilizer, acids, petroleum products, base oils, biodiesel, wax, vegetable oil and molasses and caters for a range of logistics providers including vessels, barges, tank trucks, flexitanks and rail cars. It has one marine berth with a draft of 32ft. Its rail capabilities include 22 storage spots and 15 loading spots. Truck capabilities include two loading bays and two loading scales.

Contanda has been in operation for more than 60 years and currently operates 15 crude oil terminals and other storage terminals with direct access to major population centres and ports across North America.
