Fluxys LNG to construct second loading station at its LNG Terminal in Zeebrugge

At the Zeebrugge LNG Terminal the number of LNG tanker-truck loading operations continues to rise. With a view to making sure it can keep responding to the growing level of demand, Fluxys LNG will construct a second truck loading station.

The additional station will enable the company to keep waiting times at a minimum. According to the current planning the construction, the new facility is set to start operation in spring 2018 and to be commissioned before summer.

The number of LNG truck loadings has been rising exponentially in Northwest Europe the past few years, spurred on by the EU’s increasingly stringent regulations regarding emissions. In Zeebrugge, LNG trucks and trailers have been loaded with 40 to 50m³ LNG since 2010. More than 5,000 loadings have already left Zeebrugge by road and by ferry, in order to supply remote industrial end consumers and to supply LNG as a fuel for ships and trucks in neighbouring countries.
