GTT to design LNG tanks for Triumph Offshore’s FSRU

GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) has received an order from the South Korean Shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries to design the LNG integrated tanks for the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) which has been contracted by Triumph Offshore, a subsidiary of the Indian ship-owner Swan Energy.

The tanks, which will have a capacity of 180,000 m3, and FSRU are due to delivery in late 2019.

The tanks will be equipped with the membrane containment system Mark III, a sea-proven technology developed by GTT. This insulation system has an unparalleled track record: it has been already used to equip more than 140 vessels which are still in service today.

Chairman and CEO of GTT, Philippe Berterottière said: “We are very pleased to continue our long- term partnership with Hyundai Heavy Industries with which we have already managed the new build of over 40 LNGC and FSRU. We are very glad to accompany a new operator Triumph Offshore in their first steps in the LNG arena.”

GTT is an engineering company that specialises in containment systems with cryogenic membranes used to transport and store liquefied gas, in particular LNG.
