K Line temporarily suspends dangerous goods to China


With immediate effect, K Line has suspended all dangerous goods (except for class 8 and class 9) load/discharge/transship until further notice from Qingdao terminal authority. It is expected the suspension may expire end of October 2017.

KL will also suspend all dangerous goods bookings to Xiamen during the BRICs Summit during August 27 – September 6, 2017 since DG operations will be prohibited. Any vessels with carrying dangerous cargo except CLASS 8 & CLASS 9 will not be allowed to enter Xiamen water area.

Due to a Chinese national holiday, many feeder companies suspend service from Hong Kong into South China ports. As a result, all hazardous materials IMO 2,3,4,5,6 trans-shipped via Hong Kong – September 11th to October 8th; and Class 8 & 9 into China trans-shipped via Hong Kong from September 24th to October 8th are restricted due to limited operation/monitoring available.
