Line 67 currently operates under an existing Presidential Permit that was issued by the State Department in 2009 and the 2017 permit authorises Enbridge to fully use its capacity across the border.

The permit allows Enbridge to ship 890,000 barrels per day (bpd) of Canadian crude from Edmonton, Alberta, to Superior, Wisconsin, up from 450,000 bpd currently.

The pipeline is a key component of Enbridge’s Mainline System, which U.S. refineries rely on to supply the crude oil that fuels the country’s everyday lives. Those refineries provide vital products to consumers across the Midwest, including in Minnesota. There is a strong demand for pipeline capacity and Line 67 remains critical energy infrastructure for the United States.
