AFPM awards top safety honours to Phillips 66 refineries


The American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) has recognised six Phillips 66 sites in the US for their outstanding safety performance in 2020.

Three earnt the organisation’s top award – the Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex in Louisiana, Ponca City Refinery in Oklahoma and San Francisco Refinery-Santa Maria plant in California notched Distinguished Safety Awards, presented by AFPM annually to member companies and operators displaying exemplary safety performance.

The Borger Refinery in the Texas Panhandle picked up an Elite Gold Award, while the Billings Refinery in Montana and the San Francisco Refinery-Rodeo plant earned Elite Silver honours.

AFPM is a leading trade association for US refiners and chemical manufacturers. The awards are part of a programme developed by the AFPM Safety and Health Committee to promote safe operations in the refining and petrochemical industries.
