ASLRRA selects Ayers Electronic Systems to provide PTC Implementation Coordination

The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) has announced the addition of a new Preferred Provider in the ASLRRA Member Discount Program, Ayers Electronic Systems, LLC (aE). The company will provide a comprehensive approach to implementing Positive Train Control (PTC) including selection of services, procurement, training, testing, and implementation coordination for short line railroads.

“We are pleased to be able to offer a management solution for short lines who must equip with PTC per regulation or as required by their Class I partners. Via our agreement with aE, short lines will be able to analyse their business processes, select products that meet their specific needs, and develop an implementation and training plan that will comply with the complex provisions of PTC regulations, all at a price that is reasonable for our small business railroad members,” said Chuck Baker, President of ASLRRA.

The solutions offered by aE begin with an analysis of the business environment at the railroad. A plan for implementation including PTC system specification and recommendation, procurement services, rigorous testing of command, control, communications and monitoring systems and a training plan for the railroad is completed with assistance from the technical experts at aE. Finally, aE can provide standardisation assistance to ensure day-to-day operations are consistently applying the new processes developed.

“Our staff brings over 90 years of experience in specifying, designing, integrating, and testing PTC solutions for railroads. As we are not affiliated with any specific manufacturer, we can provide an objective approach to each railroad,” said Robert G. Ayers, President of aE. “We are committed to delivering innovative solutions that meet our customers’ needs and look forward to designing and implementing programs specifically for the small business railroad environment.”
