Cooperation between Alstom and ASELSAN on Rail Systems


Alstom and ASELSAN have entered into a collaboration agreement to establish a framework of cooperation and coordination in the field of ETCS Signaling Onboard.

This collaboration agreement was signed by Dr. Ibrahim Bekar, vice president of ASELSAN, and Mama Sougoufara, Alstom Middle East and Turkey managing director.

Its main objective is to establish a long-term partnership to allow the two leading companies in the field of rail systems cooperate on both modernisation and new product development in both global and local markets.

“With this long-term partnership, Alstom will contribute to the modernisation of railways in Turkey in compliance with the international standards. I strongly believe this partnership will achieve productive and innovative results in terms of deployment of ERTMS On-Board solutions for safe operations in the Turkish and global railway networks”, said Mama Sougoufara, Alstom Middle East and Turkey managing director.

Dr. Ibrahim Bekar, vice president of ASELSAN, added: “I strongly believe that Alstom’s experience in the field of rail systems and ASELSAN’s technological capabilities will create synergy. This cooperation is intended to enable our country to reach the targets set in the 11th Development Plan and then, get into the global markets to be able to export technological products in the field of rail systems.”
