Corpus Christi dock expansion complete by 2020

A dock extension at the Port of Corpus Christi in Texas, that will create space for four ship docks and add more than 10 million barrels of additional storage to the site, is due to be completed by 2020, a Magellan Midstream Partners executive told Reuters at an industry event.

Magellan’s Senior Vice President of Commercial Crude Oil Operations, Robert Barnes, attended the Argus Americas Crude Summit and told a Reuters representative that the additional docks and increase in ship draft to 54 feet will allow load rates of more than 30,000 barrels per hour.
