D-Tec brings fixed semi-trailers for tank containers to Italy

D-Tec, an extendable container semi-trailers company, has announced it is to bring a specialised unit for transportation of tank containers to Italy through Multitrax in Cremona.

“Thanks to the efforts of the Dutch Group and the expansion of production capacity from thirty to sixty extendable frames per month, D-Tec expands the Italian offer with tank containers,” explained Alberto Maggi, at the helm of Multitrax with his brother Andrea. The Lombard company will begin to import the new range of CC 20-30 frames, which will be joined to the chassis dedicated to 20 and 30 ft containers, also valid for chemicals and characterised by the new retractable twist locks that have fewer loose parts on the frame. 

The new series of CC 20-30 fixed semi-trailers introduces the double-spar architecture instead of the central fixed one. Although it is fixed, the semitrailer is flexible because it can carry a 20 ft and a 30 ft container on the rear edge, or two 20 ft containers, or a 20 ft tank container and a 7.82 metre UCI tank, as well as individual 20ft tank containers in a central position.

To increase the robustness, 90 degree oblique crossbars between the two cross members and created a design of the arched neck and leaning towards the supporting legs were added. At the rear, the semitrailer shows a new V design that offers more rigidity. The CC 20-30 is fitted with standard tipping twist lock and self-steering axle. At the beginning of July 2018, the first CC 20-30 in full-featured equipment was added to the Multitrax rental fleet, to allow customers to come into direct contact with the vehicle and evaluate the quality and type of equipment ideal for their needs.

Meanwhile, the Vlastuin Group and its D-Tec division are constantly growing.The company is investing in new production facilities to expand the range.
