Gary Lawson appointed Abbey Logistics National Fleet Manager

Abbey Logistics has announced that Gary Lawson has joined the business as their new National Fleet Manager.

Lawson will be responsible for Abbey’s fleet of more than 370 trucks and over 550 bulk liquid and powder tanker trailers. He will be responsible for Abbey’s HGV and trailer workshops in Liverpool, Middlewich, Bromborough and Hull, and manage Abbey’s third-party maintenance suppliers across the UK.

He will also take the lead in new vehicle selection, testing and trialing trucks and trailers, to ensure Abbey’s customers are served by the most reliable and efficient equipment enabling them to maximise payload, and provide their customers with a safe and secure supply chain.

Lawson has gained more than 30 years’ HGV and road tanker experience, including running own accounts and third-party operations. He has an impressive and successful track record in operational improvement for some of the UK’s largest road tanker fleets and works with a focus on consistent service improvements, efficiency and dependability.

Commenting on his appointment, Lawson said: “Abbey’s focus on customers and working with them to solve challenges through engineering solutions, specialist equipment and a partnership approach is particularly exciting.

“I’m delighted to be joining Abbey to support their customer-orientated strategy and help deliver further success for the business and their customers.”
