IOC’s Kochi jetty nearing completion
Work on the Indian Oil Corporation’s (IOC) Multi-user Liquid Terminal (MULT) is nearing completion, local media has reported.
Construction of the 715-crore storage terminal in Puthuvype, Kochi, was delayed due to environmental group protests, but work is now nearing completion. The creation of the jetty part of the project was overseen by the Cochin Port Trust with construction started in February 2016. The initial project time was estimated at two years.
Once complete the jetty will sit idle due to a strike at the storage terminal section of the project.
The jetty, which has a capacity of 4.52 million tonnes per year, will be used unloading LPG and for loading and unloading of crude oil, diesel and petrol.
