Michael Baechler appointed as Group COO, Nils Thater succeeds as Managing Director of Business Unit Global

Bertschi Group has appointed Michael Baechler as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective June 1, 2019. Michael has been working for the company since 1998 and has played a key role in the development of the Group in different positions such as Division Manager Projects, Head of Intermodal Network, General Manager Italy and Managing Director BU Liquids Europe. Since 2012, operating as Managing Director BU Global, he successfully positioned the company in the global tank container transport market.

With the new Position as COO, Bertschi Group emphasises the willingness to further develop the success factor of integrated, customer-oriented processes in the digitized environment of logistics markets and to proactively realise growth opportunities.

Bertschi Group has appointed Nils Thater as Managing Director BU Global, effective February 1, 2019. BU Global is responsible for the Group’s worldwide tank container shipments, with its own subsidiaries in Shanghai, Singapore, Houston, Dubai, Sao Paolo and Dürrenäsch. Nils Thater has been with the company since 2012. He has successfully developed the subsidiary in Dubai, before assuming his current position as Deputy Managing Director of BU Global in Dürrenäsch, at the headquarters in Switzerland.
