Nijhof-Wassink continues sustainable fleet expansion

Nijhof-Wassink, a fuel and logistics company based in the Netherlands, has acquired two new LNG-fuelled tractor Volvo FH units. The company has began to equip the fleet of logistics vehicles with the new Light Natural Gas (LNG) engines as part of the company’s aim to lower C02 emissions. The new LNG trucks are currently assigned to the dry bulk logistics department, with future upgrades in mind for more vehicles throughout the company’s fleet.

The new Volvo FH LNG engines provide a 20% smaller C02 footprint compared to previous diesel models, with a potential for increased reduction thanks to the option to drive on bio LNG. No performance has been sacrificed as part of the upgrade, with the new LNG engines being said to have the same performance capacity as the previous Volvo diesel engines.

Nijhof-Wassink has specialised in bulk transport by road, rail and water since 1967. The company has branches in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Poland and Hungary, offering a range of specialised logistics services to customers. The company is committed to the best training and environmental practises and is continuing to look into reducing environmental impact.
