NYK, MLC integrate port and harbour transportation business companies

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) and Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation (MLC) have agreed to form a joint holding company to integrate the port and harbour transportation business companies of NYK Group.

With the investment ratio of NYK 51%: MLC49%, the agreement will see the integration of the management of the four NYK Group terminal operation companies in Japan, and merge UNI-X Corporation and Nippon Container Terminals Co., Ltd. (NCT), subject to administrative approval by the authorities concerned and necessary proceedings.

The integration aims to consolidate quality improvement efforts and enhance long term service stability for the port and harbour transportation business of the Company Group.

The holding company will be established in November and the investment ratio will be adjusted. In January 2019 the merger of UNI-X and NCT will take place.
