Pakistan’s largest fuel farm facility officially opened


Pakistan’s largest and most advanced fuel farm facility at the New Islamabad International Airport has been inaugurated.

The facility was developed jointly by Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Attock Petroleum Limited.

“We appreciate the efforts of PSO and Attock Petroleum to serve the aviation industry by setting up this huge, state-of-the-art fuel farm facility. This shows some serious commitment from both players to their mission of ensuring seamless fuel supply to the aviation sector,” said Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, Adviser to Prime Minister on Aviation Division.

The facility’s smooth operations are ensured by offloading bays equipped with 600 USGPM pumps, a storage capacity of 10,000 mt with three vertical API 650-compliant tanks, a 3,600 USGPM product pumping system, and highly advanced refuelling equipment comprising eight hydrant servicers. 

Speaking at the inauguration, PSO Managing Director Sheikh Imranul Haque, said: “We feel extremely delighted and proud in launching the country’s largest and most advanced fuel farm facility at the largest and most advanced airport of Pakistan. For decades, PSO has been fuelling the nation and today we have strengthened our leadership position further in responsibly meeting the fuelling needs of the Pakistani aviation industry.”

PSO is Pakistan’s largest oil marketing company with operations at nine major airports and over 35 years of experience in fuelling the aviation industry.

Attock Oil Group of Companies Group Chief Executive Shuaib Anwar Malik, said: “At Attock Petroleum, we share our mission of meeting the nation’s fuelling needs. This fuel farm facility, in partnership with PSO, is a strong manifestation of that very commitment.”
