Phase 3A is officially opened by Dialog at Pengerang Deepwater Terminals

Malaysian terminal operator Dialog Group has officially opened Phase 3A of its Pengerang Deepwater Terminals (PDT) development. The expansion was first announced in September 2019.

Phase 3A, which was constructed at a cost of MYR 1.6 billion (€328 million), comprises new tanks for clean petroleum products with a total capacity of 430,000 m3, common tankage facilities (including shared infrastructure) and deepwater marine facilities including a third jetty.

Dialog says that Phase 3A was completed on schedule and on budget despite COVID-19 restrictions. It will target medium- to long-term customers, such as oil traders, multinational oil companies, refineries and petrochemical plants, and in turn, downstream operations such as the refinery and petrochemical plants within the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex.

Phase 3A received its first vessel on March 19, 2021 and was officially opened on April 5, 2021 in a ceremony officiated by the Menteri Besar (first minister) of Johor, YAB Dato’ Haji Hasni bin Mohammad, and Dialog’s executive chairman Tan Sri Dr Ngau Boon Keat. Eugene Leong, country president of BP Singapore and Myanmar, and CEO of BP Refining & Products Trading, Asia Pacific and Middle East, attended the ceremony virtually. BP Singapore has a long-term storage agreement in place with Dialog for Phase 3A.
