Prohire supplies bulk tractor units to Abbey Logistics

Commercial vehicle contract hire and fleet management company, Prohire Limited has secured the contract to supply Abbey Logistics with its latest tractor unit fleet requirement. The vehicles, which went into operation at the beginning of 2019 are to support a new bulk flour contract with British baker Hovis, distributing bulk flour from Hovis’s flour mill in Wellingborough to bakery sites throughout the UK on a 24/7 basis.

The Mercedes Actros 2446LS tractor units have been supplied on a 60-month contract term by Prohire. They are FORS silver compliant and include numerous operational and safety features, including Gardner Denver high capacity blowers suitable for both dry and wet product operation. The StreamSpace cabs are fitted with in-cab refrigerators and microwaves and provide a comfortable working and living space for drivers.

The Abbey Group is a leading provider of bulk road tanker logistics and the UK’s largest liquid and powder food transport operator, serving some of Europe’s largest manufacturers.
