Puma Energy’s new bitumen terminal in Chennai


Puma Energy’s bitumen business, Puma Bitumen, has announced the opening of its latest bitumen terminal in Chennai, India. The new terminal will produce up to 40 thousand tpy of asphalt to support infrastructure growth in the country.

Located in Chennai, South East India, the terminal will provide a great strategic location for the region’s first bitumen import terminal. The bitumen produced from the terminal will be sold in the local market to help pave the way for an improved and more sustainable road network in Chennai.

Providing the country with an efficient and modern bitumen supply infrastructure to support its rapid growth, this latest terminal opening in India will also complement and enhance Puma Bitumen’s growing portfolio in Asia and Australasia.

Bitumen produced from this terminal will be supplied to Hyderabad City Corp., Chennai City Corporations and Tamil Nadu Public Works department.

The opening of this terminal will be marked by the arrival of The Sheriff, a Puma Bitumen vessel with a shipping capacity of 15,000 deadweight t.
