SNEL Shared Logistics takes over transport division from Blokker

The boards of SNEL Shared Logistics and Blokker are discussing an intended takeover of Blokker’s distribution activities in the Netherlands. Logistics service provider SNEL has been part of Vos Logistics since the beginning of this year.

The intended takeover means that 38 employees will transfer from Blokker to SNEL. Employees will remain in Geldermalsen, where the largest distribution centre of Blokker is located. The transfer of company will not result in any redundancies. Talks with employees, works councils and unions have now started.

SNEL will also take over forty vehicles and loading units from Blokker. In the coming years these will be replaced by environmentally friendly trucks. This is fully in line with the ambitions of SNEL and Vos Logistics to develop sustainable transport solutions.

Peter de Vries, Director of SNEL Shared Logistics sees advantages in the proposed cooperation for all parties: “SNEL has previously taken over drivers from retailers in the past. Experience shows that these drivers fit in well with the service-oriented culture of the company. With this expansion, our network is further compacted and we can deploy employees more efficiently.”
