SRG secures Kuwait LNG storage tanks job


SRG Limited has secured an AUD$26.5m contract with Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. for the provision of specialist contracting services for eight new LNG tanks in Kuwait.

SRG’s Managing Director, David Macgeorge said: “We are very pleased to be awarded the work on this key project with Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. which represents a significant achievement for SRG’s international team. The AUD $26.5m project is a major contract win and demonstrates the strong progress in developing our international business.

“Our strong track record of having successfully delivered post-tensioning works utilising the BBR System on a number of LNG and LPG tank projects in other parts of the world previously was key to the award of this project.”

Under the contract, SRG will be responsible for post-tensioning eight LNG storage tanks which are a core part of the Al Zour LNG Import Project in Kuwait. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to produce approximately 22 million metric tonnes (MMT) of natural gas per year and will have a storage capacity of 1.8 million m³ of LNG1.
