Stolt Tank Containers completes $11m investment and expansion project at Houston depot

Putting customers’ needs first was central to the $11m investment at Stolt Tank Containers’ Houston depot.

The company recently increased the depot storage capacity by 40 percent to 80,000 sq metres and the facility has now capacity to store 3000 empty tanks and 400 loaded tanks. Offering customers a one-stop-shop for loading, storage, heating, cleaning and repairs, this depot is helping to set the standard across the world.

Mike Kramer, President of Stolt Tank Containers ,said: “2019 will be an exciting year for STC as we continue to build out our depot network. We recently opened two depots in Saudi Arabia and are working on a new depot in Glasgow, Scotaldn, for our food grade trade.

“We are also launching stolttankcontainers.com and updating our digital platform for the benefit of our customers around the world.”

Dan Shelton, Depot Manager, Houston, commented: “We have increased our storaeg capacity by 40 percent, we put down 12 acres of concrete to fully utilise our property. Unlike other depots with more basic conditions, ,concrete offers a more even surface for the movement and storge of a tank container.

“We designed and built a fully-automated heating station. This increased safety levels further as our technicians can focus on managing the overall process. We truly want to be a one-stop-shop for our customers.

“The most important of all the improvements we’ve made are centred around safety. We have installed new fall protection, lowering worker devices, facility-wide sirens.”
