Stolt Tank Containers issues India business update statement

Stolt Tank Containers (STC), has reacted to the news that the Government of India has recently declared a lockdown of non-essential business and activities to help combat the spread of Covid-19, with an online statement.

In it, STC says it “fully supports” the lockdown. Furthermore, it said Tank Container Cleaning & Repair, Kandla and SPS Intermodal Services Mumbai have both been designated essential services and have received approval to operate in a limited capacity to provide essential transportation services.

It said: “we have limited teams in place at both locations, with enhanced hygiene measures to keep them and our customers safe. They are able to receive empty containers for cleaning from the very short supply trucking resources in the area. We are committed to supporting the trucking companies in emptying their vehicles so that goods in short supply can quickly reach those communities where they are needed most.”

The statement concluded with a thanks to the villages, local government and police in Gandhidham, Gujarat and Raigad, Mahrashtra, “for their support in helping us to restart the flow of goods to the people. Our thoughts are with all those affected by the outbreak and we believe that by working together we can reduce the negative impact it has on our local communities.”
