Stolt’s Indian depots remain open, despite COVID-19 pandemic

Two depots in India that are run by Stolt Tank Containers remain open despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, the company confirmed that Stolt Tank Containers Cleaning & Repair Pvt Ltd, Kandla and SPS Intermodal Services (India) Pvt Ltd, Mumbai remain open and are gradually increasing operations as staffing levels improve.

The statement said: “We appreciate the patience of our customers and the trucking companies who are working with our facilities in India during this challenging time.

“Both facilities are open in accordance with the announcement made by the Indian government, and are able to accept and release tanks as agreed and under reduced operating hours as dictated by the situation.

“We were pleased to hear the good news for the business community today, authorising the reopening of many industrial businesses, and hope that with this comes the discipline of safe social distancing that is seen as critical to containing COVID-19.”

The recent announcement by the Indian government means that the company will now also be allowed to formally reopen a number of other facilities and also authorises the intra and transborder transport of trucks.
