The Port of Tyne voted Port Operator of the Year


The Port of Tyne has been voted Port Operator of the Year at the third FTA Multimodal Awards. The awards are organised by the Freight Transport Association (FTA) in association with Multimodal, a freight transport and logistics exhibition for the UK and Ireland, held annually at the NEC in Birmingham.

Recognising excellence in air, road, rail, maritime, and freight forwarding services – the awards are voted for by the readers of the Multimodal newsletter, as well as FTA members, and exhibitors at Multimodal 2018.

The Port of Tyne received the most votes from the shortlisted ports which included: DP World Southampton, PD Ports, Forth Ports and ABP.

Nolan Gray, Port of Tyne Business Development Director, said: “Thank you to all of our stakeholders, and suppliers who voted for us and for their continued support. The FTA Multimodal awards are important to celebrate our success collectively as a logistics industry and it is good to see such a diverse range of company’s recognised for their contribution to the sector.”
