Van den Bosch takes delivery of first two in series of 42 trucks

Netherlands-based Van den Bosch Transporten has received the keys of the first two from a series of 42 new Renault trucks. Van den Bosch has put the driver at the centre of the procurement process.

“No one can test and assess a truck better than an experienced driver, who drives it day in and day out and knows what to look out for in order to carry out his work optimally,” says Hans Kanters, Director Procurement.

The truck plays an important role when it comes to driver satisfaction. A recent employee survey within Van den Bosch showed that the comfort of a truck, the capacity and the size and equipment of the cabin are frequently mentioned.

When purchasing new trucks, the drivers’ opinions at Van den Bosch were also weighty. “We have used several cars for a number of weeks as a demo in our own work and our drivers have driven for a long time. Their feedback was very valuable in the purchase process. In the end we opted for Renault Trucks,” said Hans.

The Renault Trucks T with Sleeper Cab and the 460 hp DTI 11-litre engine produced many positive reactions during the test phase. “Among other things, the high driver comfort and extra power in combination with the favourable mileage cost has convinced us to opt for this modern truck. The ease of use and the safety options are also completely contemporary,” said Hans.
