Vopak to expand is gas terminal in Vlissingen, Netherlands

Vopak has announced that it will again expand its wholly-owned gas terminal in Vlissingen, the Netherlands. Including the existing tanks, a total of 9,200 cbm of capacity will be built for LPG and chemical gases to serve the Northwest European market.

The additional storage capacity is expected to be commissioned in the second quarter of 2020. The previous expansion of Vopak in Vlissingen was in 2015, at that time six new gas bullets were placed, the new expansion will include two bullets.

The previous expansion was the result of dialogue with the company’s clients who were looking for new products and new transportation channels. The project was constructed using existing methods and entails the expansion of its pressurised gas storage facilities with six cylindrical “bullet” tanks.
